[~*~] Austin Trout vs Saul Alvarez Live PPV Fight Update News!
On Saturday, April 20, boxing's big month of fights continues with Saul Canelo Alvarez vs. Austin Trout. Canelo vs. Trout airs live on Showtime this Saturday April 20 with a fight time of 10 p.m. ET / 7 p.m. PT. Join Bloody Elbow Saturday night and all week for full fight coverage of Canelo vs. Trout.

This is an intriguing fight - a very close contest between two undefeated champions. It also wasn't really suppossed to happen. The talk was for Canelo to face Miguel Cotto, but when Trout toppled Cotto in Madison Square Garden, he inherited the Canelo fight. The end result is a fight every bit as compelling as Canelo vs. Cotto, but for different reasons.

Showtime runs down those reasons in All Access: Canelo vs. Trout - a 10 minute look into why each man sees this as a must win fight. For Canelo, it's all about revenge as Trout defeated his brother Rigoberto Alvarez two years ago. Now, Canelo wants to avenge the family name. For his part, Trout comes across as just a hard working, normal guy who needs this win for the advancement of his career. Here, he's the kind of person who goes skateboarding around the neighborhood with his dog, while thinking about how to best pay his bills.

It's a question of whose "O" will go as 26 - 0 American Austin "No Doubt" Trout faces 41 - 0 Mexican hotshot Saul "Canelo" Alvarez. 27-year-old Trout puts his WBA Super World title on the line, while Alvarez (below) risks the vacant WBC belt he won against Matthew Hatton in 2011.

Canelo's rise to prominence at just the age of 22 is remarkable. The Jalisco-born has chalked up a remarkable 41 wins after turning pro at the age of 16 and while some commentators previously said his record is padded, he defeated Matthew Hatton in 2011 and gone on to defend the WBC title on five occasions. During those defences, Alvarez has stopped four victims; only Sugar Shane Mosley took the Mexican the distance.

Though No Doubt Trout has 15 fewer wins than his Mexican counterpart, he underlined his credentials with a determined win over Miguel Cotto (above) last December. That night, he faced a partisan, Cotto-favouring crowd in New York's Madison Square Garden live on BoxNation as he left the Puerto Rican heavily marked en route to a 12-round unanimous decision. Now Trout's task is arguably a bigger one; to beat someone with a record like Alvarez's and unify the light-middleweight division.
